Direct Mailouts: Can We Do It? Pros & Cons

In summary, direct mailouts offer a targeted and personalized approach to reaching potential customers, with a higher response rate compared to other forms of marketing. However, there are downsides such as cost and uncertain readership. To ensure success, it is important to have a well-defined target audience, personalize the content, and include a call to action and incentive. Results can be tracked through unique codes and contact information. The frequency of mailouts should strike a balance between staying top-of-mind and avoiding overwhelming recipients, typically quarterly or biannually.

Can we do direct mailouts? Like when you order from Vista and they offer you the mailing for you to your area. I am thinking this is a no no. Right?

IF not, has anyone done these and what kind of results did you have.

Thanks,
Carol

I'm almost 1000% sure that is not ok to do! Now to drop some flyers in your neighbors mailbox I think that would be ok...

you can not touch others mailboxes! It is against the law. You cannot even hang things on mailboxes legaly. Now if you mail them then yes that is OK. Not sure about the direct mailing thing. I personally do not see what would be wrong about it?

Are you talking about the envelopes full of coupons that you get in the mail? The ones that you don't even open - just toss it? Not worth the money IMO.

From my understanding the Vista thing is you giving them your contact list & they send them for you. I would think that is ok.

**EDITS** ok I looked and cant seem to find where I read that be4
