Diabetic-Friendly Desserts for 10 Guests

In summary, for a diabetic-friendly dessert option, consider a fresh fruit platter, sugar-free cheesecake, dark chocolate covered strawberries, baked apples, chia pudding, sugar-free ice cream, grilled pineapple with cinnamon, low-carb lemon bars, flourless chocolate cake, or sugar-free fruit crisp. Other options could include mini fruit tarts, individual pies, or molten lava cakes with light ice cream.

I have a host who just found out today that she is diabetic. She changed her main from the deep dish cheeseburger pizza to the asian chicken salad. But I had told her that I would do a dessert for 10 guests RSVPing. I was going to do the 12 minute chocolate cake, now in the fluted stoneware pan (because of the DCB issue). What else do you think would be good?

Depending on the dietary restrictions of your guests, a lighter and healthier dessert option could be fruit kabobs with honey-yogurt dip. You could also make a variety of mini fruit tarts or even individual pies with a graham cracker crust and your favorite fruits. For a more indulgent option, you could make individual molten lava cakes with a light ice cream on the side.

1. Fresh Fruit Platter: A platter of fresh fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and sliced bananas can make a delicious and healthy dessert option for diabetics.2. Sugar-Free Cheesecake: You can make a sugar-free cheesecake using a sugar substitute such as stevia or erythritol. You can also use almond flour for the crust to make it low-carb.3. Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries: Dark chocolate is known for its health benefits and is a great option for diabetics. You can dip fresh strawberries in melted dark chocolate and serve as a dessert.4. Baked Apples: Baked apples are a simple and delicious dessert option for diabetics. Simply core and slice apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and bake until tender. Serve with a dollop of sugar-free whipped cream.5. Chia Pudding: Chia seeds are a great source of fiber and can help regulate blood sugar levels. You can make a chia pudding using almond milk, chia seeds, and a sugar substitute. Top with fresh berries for added flavor.6. Sugar-Free Ice Cream: You can make a sugar-free ice cream using heavy cream, almond milk, and a sugar substitute. You can also add in your favorite mix-ins such as chopped nuts or sugar-free chocolate chips.7. Grilled Pineapple with Cinnamon: Grilled pineapple with a sprinkle of cinnamon can make a tasty and healthy dessert option for diabetics. The natural sweetness of the pineapple pairs well with the warm spice of cinnamon.8. Low-Carb Lemon Bars: You can make a low-carb version of lemon bars using almond flour for the crust and a sugar substitute for the filling. They are tangy and sweet without the added sugar.9. Flourless Chocolate Cake: A flourless chocolate cake made with almond flour and a sugar substitute is a decadent and diabetic-friendly dessert option. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream for added indulgence.10. Sugar-Free Fruit Crisp: You can make a sugar-free fruit crisp using a sugar substitute for the topping and your choice of fruit, such as apples or berries, for the filling. Serve warm with a scoop of sugar-free ice cream.
