Have any of you ever had experience with this?

When I went today for my appointment and was talking with my dr about how Cole was doing, he said he could massage him and it could help him sleep and digest better. He said that especially in c-sections sometime when they turn them to get them out it can mess some things up. He said he can examine him and then know if he needs to do anything.

I am going to research it online but was wondering if any of you have had personal experience with it.

He also said he wished he had of know I was breeched and Cole was not turning because he is 7 for 7 of getting babies to turn! I told him I wish I had of known myself before 9 hours of labor, ha!!

I would be okay with massage, but not chiropractic thingies (yeah, I have no idea what to call them) because their bones are so fragile and soft.

My oldest DD had constipation issues as an infant & our chiro was able to get her completely worked out. She also had colic & he helped with that.

It's not an adjustment like they would give an adult. More of a massage & alignment type of thing. Kind of hard to explain.

YES!! All 3 of my children are and have been adjusted since BIRTH. I'm a chiropractic assistant and see the differences everyday I go to work with children we see.

To attest to the breech (also known as the webster technique) my 2nd ds, was breech and my ob/gyn told me that we had to do an inversion. THat was on a thursday, went to work on friday, he did the webster 3 times that day and when I went to the hospital on Saturday to have the inversion done, Matthew had moved!! So no inversion for me and I went home!!

Yes, I used to work at a massage place as a receptionist and one of the therapists also worked at the NICU. Make sure you get someone who is certified for it though.

My BIL is a chiropracter and he checked out my newborn. He did give her a massage and checked everything and said she was good. He also said that if they are fussy, it can help if you push their legs up against their tummy and then pull them back down. You can do that gently over and over again and it should help their tummies settle.

Both of my girls have had adjustments, especially for ear infections and other common ailments. The adjustments are different for babies and younger children than they are for adults. We saw huge differences in our girls when they were adjusted.

My friend took her DD to a chiropracter shortly after she was born cause she was not gaining weight actually she was losing weight she was born at 7 lbs and when she took her into the chiropracter she was under 5 lbs. Her DD's neck was so out of alignment she wasnt eating her daughter will be 2 in Nov and she still takes her in for treatments. She said they dont do any popping and they are very careful.

Thanks. I knew someone on here would have experience with it.

I trust my dr completely so I do not worry he will do anything that will hurt him. He did explain it would be nothing like what he does to me, I would NEVER want that, ha!

We have our appointment with our pediatricia on Monday. After that we will probably take him in. Russell wants to go with me to make sure he understands exactly what he is going to be doing first.

Jennifer~ I have heard many people talk about this with success...especially since YOU see him and trust him.

I see a myofacial release specialist (specializes in muscle "energy" therapy...using easly "long" stretches on muscles to release tightness...if your muscles are tight, they will pull your bones and stuff out of alignment) and they work on children too. Because it is such a gentle technique, I would not worry at all about having it done on any one of my children.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were having any problems with him! I hope that this will help him!

My son was adjusted shortly after birth - daughter wasn't. I see noticeable differences between the two. Daughter often has neck/head pain, son has none even after falls.

I was adjusted more during my pregnancy with DS and it made a noticeable difference! I did better pushing out 9 lbs. 6 oz. than 6 lbs. 10 oz.! If it wasn't for being constantly watched and aligned during that time, I probably would have had to have a C-section with DS because he was face-up rather than face-down coming out.

If you know you have a good chiropractor, I'd say go for it.

...and yes, they do NOT adjust babies like adults!

Both of my girls have had tubes in their ears. Now they want to surgically take Haley's tubes out because they haven't come out on their own. Then they want to put them back in! I'm confused! She is three. For those of you who have had luck at the chiropractor for this, what do you think? Do you think this might help her after the tubes are taken out? They have been on so many antibiotics and drops and all that stuff I hate to put her through it again. Plus two more surgeries? I can't do it to her if there may be another way. I need some advice, I've never heard of this before.

Hey Lisa,

My chiropractor LOVES to inform people! If you call the office and say that you were refered by Kristi, they'll tell you anything you need to know. J/k! They'll do that anyway!! His website is: http://www.chirosal.com

All the information is there and you can see a pic of me!

My son has been adjusted since he was a baby. He has only had one mild ear infection his whole life (he's 4:D) He loves our chiropractor. Our chiropractor specializes in families and children, and has a wall of pictures of himself holding all of the babies and children he adjusts. He has a special table and special tools that he uses with the little ones, Micah loves to be adjusted...he calls our chiro. "Dr. Steve, the Tickle Dr."

Wait on the surgical removal until age 4-4 1/2.

DS went through EVERYTHING including chiro for ear infections and had to have tubes put in at age 1 - they were an IMMENSE help!

They are "supposed" to come out after 1 year.

His first came out a month before his 4th birthday - second came out about 6 weeks ago - age 4 1/2. All had healed and looks great.

Leaving them in just means care around water for awhile. He was able to quickly adjust to the "don't put your head underwater" to go have fun immediately. He took a swim class and passed it the first time!

Thanks Kristi! I'm gonna have to call.
Janet, the reason they want to remove them is b/c she is getting infections again. Did your son have problems after the tubes were in? Haley had hers put in at ten months and has just recently started having nasty puss coming out of her left ear. (Its so gross!!!) They gave me drops but she won't let me put them in, she says they burn. I dread putting her through all the infections again, but it doesn't seem like what they want to do is working for her.

Just once he had that in one ear. He had a course of antibiotics at that point that cleared that out then they were functioning fine again.

We couldn't handle the expense of having them surgically removed - costs as much as putting them in so I prayed that they'd stay clear and come out when they need to.

From age 0-1 he had constant chronic ear infections...didn't start walking until the day his tubes were in because he'd take a step and fall flat on his face (balance issues due to the ears). The day the tubes got put in he walked around the entire house!

From ages 1-4 he got maybe 2 ear infections at the most. It was wonderful!!!! We'll see how this winter goes without them.

We finally put them in after exhausting all other methods and having an excellent pediatrician tell us that in all her years of practice, every child with his shape ear has had to have tubes. Otherwise, she was fully supportive as we tried other things.

I had my daughter adjusted after she was born she didn't cry or anything my chiropractor was very good. She did me the whole way through cause my tail bone kept poping out and right before my c-section she did me and it helped the healing process. She told me that it helps baby sleep better, eat better, helps with their ears so they wont ear infections as easy and it also helps callic babies either I know some of my friends who had callic babies and took them and they said it went away fast and helped them to happier and more content. So i totally suggest you do it !!!!

We did the same thing. Exhausted all other options to no avail. The tubes have helped tremedously. She has had them for two years with out a problem. This has all just started recently.
It's funny that you say that about your son walking. My oldest DD stopped walking for a few days after the tube were put in. She started up about two days later. Isn't it amazing how much ears do?
The cost is a huge factor. We just got all of her physical thereapy bills paid! (sholder distocia at birth) And we just had another baby so money is an issue. (sad as it may be)
I waited until she was asleep to put the drops in and she woke up screaming in pain! She says they burn. They are called ciprodex drops. I want to think we've had to use those befor but I can't remember.
