Is Pampered Chef's Ceramic Cookware Safe and Made in China?

In summary, during a conversation about the Ceramic Cookware, a host expressed concern about its origin and safety. The guest was specifically worried about the fact that it was made in China. The host, who owns both non-PC ceramic cookware and a PC Executive sauté pan, believes that ceramic cookware is safe but switched to the PC Executive due to issues with the finish on their previous ceramic cookware. The host also mentioned that ceramic cookware has a shorter warranty compared to other Pampered Chef products and is more budget-friendly. However, they cannot speak to its safety and stated that Pampered Chef would not sell it if it wasn't safe. The host has used ceramic cookware for five years before becoming a PC consultant and

I have a upcoming host (her show is Thursday) that has a guest asking about the Ceramic Cookware. She asked if it was made in China. When I replied that it was, she now wants to know if it is "safe". Any thoughts? I have the sauté pan that we earned for FREE, but my preference is the Executive, so I haven't used mine much.

I own a set of non-PC ceramic cookware. I also have the earned skillet of PC ceramic. I believe ceramic is safe. Why did I switch away from my "lifetime guarantee" ceramic to the PC Executive? because I was tired of sending it back every THREE years on my dime for replacements when the finish stared to bubble and flake. My PC Executive is holding up better than my ceramic. There is a very good reason why the PC Ceramic only has a three year guarantee.

Ceramic is a new trend for people who don't want to use non-stick surfaces. It doesn't have the same warranty as our other cookware and is more of an intro piece for those more budget conscious. I can't really speak to the safety of it, but Pampered Chef wouldn't sell it if they didn't think it was safe.

I used my ceramic exclusively for five years before I became a PC consultant. I bought the 5-Piece set when I started selling PC and still used several of my ceramic pieces on a regular basis. I only completely switched away from it a year ago.

1. Is ceramic cookware safe?

Yes, ceramic cookware is generally considered safe for cooking. It is made from natural materials, such as clay, and does not contain harmful chemicals like Teflon or PFOA. However, it is important to use and care for ceramic cookware properly to ensure its safety and longevity.

2. Is ceramic cookware non-stick?

Yes, most ceramic cookware has a non-stick surface that allows for easy food release and makes cleaning a breeze. However, the level of non-stickiness may vary depending on the brand and quality of the ceramic coating. Proper seasoning and maintenance can also help maintain the non-stick properties of ceramic cookware.

3. Can ceramic cookware be used on all types of stovetops?

It depends on the specific type of ceramic cookware. Some ceramic cookware is not suitable for induction stovetops, while others may not be safe for use on high heat or open flames. It is important to check the manufacturer's instructions before using ceramic cookware on a specific type of stovetop.

4. How do I care for my ceramic cookware?

To maintain the safety and longevity of ceramic cookware, it is important to follow the care instructions provided by the manufacturer. Generally, it is recommended to hand wash ceramic cookware with mild soap and warm water. Avoid using metal utensils, abrasive cleaners, or placing the cookware in the dishwasher or oven.

5. Can I use metal utensils with ceramic cookware?

It is not recommended to use metal utensils with ceramic cookware, as they can scratch or damage the non-stick surface. It is best to use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils when cooking with ceramic cookware to avoid any potential damage.
