We have a lot of get togethers at our house and I usually do a lot of food, mostly homemade stuff. I wanted to make a triffle for our last party and I usually do strawberries, chocolate pudding, cool whip and white cake. But since it's the middle of winter I wanted to do something that felt more seasonal and didn't require expensive strawberries. What I wound up creating was a carmel apple triffle. I chopped up some apples and cooked them in the microwave with a little brown sugar. Then I layered them with cool whip, yellow cake, chocolate pudding and carmel syrup. Everyone loved it! The one thing I should have done differently was to let the apples cool a little longer.

That sounds great! Thanks for sharing, I definitely plan to try that one!:)

I'm going to try coming up with a couple of different types of triffles. There seems to be a lot of potluck type things around here. I think I can really sell the triffle bowls if I can demostrate that they are pretty much the easy, impressive dessert they can make.
