Bath Time Pictures Lead to Kids Taken Away: Real or Ridiculous?

In summary, taking bath time pictures of your children is a common and harmless practice, and is not a cause for concern. However, if someone shares or uses your pictures without permission, you should take immediate action and seek legal help if necessary. When sharing bath time pictures, it is important to be cautious and mindful of privacy settings. Taking bath time pictures is not considered child pornography, but it is important to be mindful of the content and context of the pictures. In custody battles, bath time pictures alone should not have a negative impact as long as they are appropriate and not shared in a malicious manner.

Did anyone else see the cnn report on the couple whose children were taken away from them because they took bath time pictures of them. I just heard about it today and watched it online. This is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I personally do not know any parents who DO NOT have pictures of their kids during bath time...and even potty-time pictures. With so much real abuse in the world why do they waste tax-payer time and money on stuff like this?

OMG. That just breaks my heart!

Yeah, there's a whole thread about it already. This is another case of the Perpetually Offended at work. There is a class of people out there that wake up every morning with the thought, "What can I find to offend me today so I can go off about it?"

Sorry to start another thread. I have now posted there too.

Hi there! I did see the CNN report and I have to say, I was just as shocked as you were. As a parent and a consultant for Pampered Chef, I know firsthand how important it is to capture those special moments with our children, including bath time. It's unfortunate that this couple had their children taken away for something that seems so innocent. I agree that our resources should be focused on real cases of abuse rather than wasting time and money on situations like this. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

1. Is it true that taking bath time pictures of my kids can lead to them being taken away?

No, this statement is not true. Taking pictures of your children during bath time is a common and harmless practice for many families. It is only when these pictures are shared inappropriately or used for malicious purposes that it becomes a concern.

2. What should I do if someone shares or uses my bath time pictures without my permission?

If someone shares or uses your bath time pictures without your permission, you should immediately reach out to the person and ask them to remove the pictures. If they refuse, you can report the incident to the website or social media platform where the pictures were shared. You can also seek legal action if necessary.

3. Are there any precautions I should take when sharing bath time pictures of my kids?

It is always important to be cautious when sharing any pictures of your children online. Make sure your privacy settings are set to the highest level and only share pictures with trusted family and friends. It is also a good idea to avoid posting pictures in real-time and instead, share them after the bath time activity is over.

4. Can taking bath time pictures be considered child pornography?

No, taking pictures of your own children during bath time is not considered child pornography. Child pornography involves the exploitation or sexualization of minors, which is not the case in this scenario. However, it is important to be mindful of the content and context of the pictures you take to avoid any misunderstandings.

5. Should I be worried about my bath time pictures being used against me in custody battles?

While it is always possible for someone to use any type of picture or information against you in a custody battle, bath time pictures alone are not a determining factor. As long as the pictures are appropriate and not shared in a malicious manner, they should not negatively impact a custody case.
