Anyone Have Chocolate Frosting Recipe for Skillet Cake?

In summary, Janet is looking for a recipe for a chocolate skillet cake with a liquid chocolate frosting that she had at a show. She is having trouble finding the recipe and the consultant who made it is out of town. Another person, possibly a Pampered Chef consultant, provides a recipe for the cake and frosting. Janet later finds the recipe and shares it with everyone. The frosting recipe includes semi-sweet chocolate morsels, cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar.

Hi all, I went to a show last weekend where the consultant made a chocolate skillet cake that had a wonderful liquid chocolate frosting made from semi-sweet morsels and, I think, cream cheese. Does anyone have that frosting recipe? I am having trouble locating it, and the consultant is out of town this weekend. Thanks!
Janet

Hi Janet,I found a recipe for a chocolate skillet cake with a liquid chocolate frosting that sounds similar to the one you described. Here it is:Chocolate Skillet Cake with Liquid Chocolate FrostingIngredients:- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour- 1 cup granulated sugar- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder- 1 teaspoon baking soda- 1/2 teaspoon salt- 1 cup water- 1/4 cup vegetable oil- 1 tablespoon white vinegar- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened- 1/4 cup powdered sugar- 1/4 cup heavy creamInstructions:1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet and set aside.2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.3. In a separate bowl, mix together the water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.5. Pour the batter into the prepared skillet and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.6. While the cake is baking, make the liquid chocolate frosting. In a small mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gradually add in the heavy cream and beat until the frosting is smooth and pourable.7. When the cake is done, let it cool in the skillet for 5 minutes. Then, pour the frosting over the warm cake, spreading it evenly with a spatula.8. Serve the cake warm, directly from the skillet. Enjoy!I hope this is the recipe you were looking for. Happy baking!
