Hi Anne!
Hubby and I are ttc too. We have been trying since last October. We got pregnant in December and I miscarried at 6 weeks. We've been trying again since March. If I am not pregnant this month (I will know by Thursday this week) then I think I will take the rest of the year off...
Shoes?Everyone keeps saying "wear walking shoes". Does that mean tennis shoes? I don't have any shoes that I would walk a lot in except tennis shoes and goodness knows it would not be a good time to break in new shoes! Would tennies be appropriate or not??

Another way to "break the ice" is to walk up to the person holding the sale and ask if they have any Pampered Chef items in their sale. Then they may say some of the following that could start conversations:
1. What is Pampered Chef?
2. Yes, I have a baking stone (or something) right here...
I am trying to design my fair booth and am wondering if anyone has used the display posters from Merrill. They are rather large and I am unsure of how to use them in a 10 x 10 booth. Any suggestions??
Tara:confused:
I did a variation of this at my show Friday night - While I was preparing the recipe, instead of talking my way through the recipe, I had each guest share some of their favorites, why they like it, etc., etc. I loved the format - it took the pressure off of me, made the party interactive and...
How does the PC fundraisers differ from other FR in terms of what the organization can earn? I think 10-15% is really low. How do we stack up against Mary Kay and other fundraisers? Anyone know? I have a meeting with an owner of a competitive cheerleading gym next week and they are currently...
I do make "out-of-the box" calls to everyone so we will see. And I do get email addresses from everyone to send them my monthly e-newsletter that has host specials and promotions that I am doing. It'll all shake out. I was just stunned.

Hey guys! I had a party today - had 11 people there which is a great turnout (this was my 7th cooking party) and over all between $500-$600 in sales. The host was a coworker who is a good friend and I was really excited about getting outside of my circle of friends and family but not one...
The good news is that the extra Pampered Chef income has allowed me to treat us to this luxury which is great since I am now so busy with PC stuff!! So whether it's deductible or not, I'm still gonna do it!! (have it done that is - not claim it as a deduction) heheheheh :p

That's what I thought too when I was doing consulting work from home but our accountant said it was allowable. I guess I will have to check on it with him.
Thanks!!!
Tara
BTW soonerchef - LOVE all of your posts - you give such great advice!!
I know when I worked from home in the past for a consulting company, I was allowed to claim home cleaning services as a business expense. Does anyone know if this is still allowable and if it applies to PC businesses?
And, no, I'm not joking!!! :)

The only time I approached somebody was when I was paying them for the items I was buying. When I paid them I asked if they would like a mini catalog. Otherwise, they approached me.
