Hi, just moved from LA in June of 09... Lower Alabama that is... first move with the Army... besides when my parents were in. Just trying to get started here in WA, but there are 9 (no kidding) other consultants within a mile and a half of me...

    Jody,
Can I ask where your husband is in PA? My DH is currently finishing a job in PA as a govt contract (lives in Carlisle), while I'm getting our 'forever home' settled in.

DH and I are both retired Army (2003 and 2004). We built our home in a small retirement community in central florida. I love love love being retired. It's a huge adjustment in some ways, but it's a great new chapter too!

Don't worry too much about moving your business, especially if you are retiring in a military area. I moved my business several times and found that two groups in particular are very supportive: other military spouses and other female small business owners. The first few months were a little stressful, but then I had as much business as I wanted. My director just moved her business last month and is already filling up her calendar. A couple military gals on my team have also moved the businesses successfully. As you get closer to moving, shoot me a PM if you'd like.

    Hi all!
My husband is Active Army...20 years active 8/10!!! So looking forward to him retiring! Not looking forward to moving my business! I've been a consultant for 5 years, all in the same place. We own a home in Tampa and will be relocating (most likely) there when he retires. Nervous to uproot myself...would love some ideas from those of you who move more frequently that I do!
We are from Mass, were stationed on Guam, then to Chicago (ironically before my PC days...never even heard of PC until we moved to FL), then to Tampa, then home to MA. Hubby is currently stationed in PA until he retires. I stayed in MA with the kids b/c my family is 1 town away, with him having deployment potential.

    Quick question:
What's the trifle recipe that's on the business card? Is it the Lime Berry Mouse trifle?

for me moving my business to Japan was a blessing. My sales have increased. It is scary getting started again but get involved in your new community and different groups on the base. wear pampered chef logo clothing and keep mini cattys with you to hand out. host a meet and greet at your house to get to know new people.

So far we like Yokosuka. I am waiting for the weather to get better to get out and do more. It rains alot here. How long does your Pc products take to get to you? Here it seems to be taking 3-4 weeks. When I lived in Spain it only took two weeks. but back then it was UPS and not fed ex. I guess I am spoiled with it only taking a few days in the states.
