I tried one of the plans to read through the Bible in a year. It was too much for me. I found myself reading so much each day that I didn't really feel like I was getting anything from it. It became a get-through-it-and-check-it-off-the-list thing for me. Not a good thing.

I did enjoy reading through the Bible in order, Genesis through Revelation. It helped me to kind of put some things in order in my head. I've thought of getting one of the chronological Bibles, but haven't done it yet. Maybe I'll put that on my Christmas wish list.

Janet...you should check out Bible Explorer also. They have place to develop a reading plan.

    Awesome Shawnna!
Rae - I TOTALLY understand. I'm starting and doing it myself...was just looking for the proper "plan". I was thinking of a book by book method too. Whether I have someone doing it with me or not is not totally important - thought it'd be a great challenge for someone else too. I'll let you guys know how it goes!

Wow...our church service was so awesome tonight. It was CA service...Christ Ambassadors/Youth...the youth leader said started talking and then the youth choir started singing a worship song and the service just busted loose. The kids started hitting the alters and it was just praise and worship and prayer for the rest of the service. God is so good. He always gives us what we need. His blessings are awesome.

I've read through it once. The Furry Guy's done it more than once. My own preference is to choose a book and study it, then choose another. Right now our Bible study is working its way through 1 Peter.

Hope you find a partner, Janet. It's usually easier for me to have someone to share the experience and keep me accountable. I'm not that person this time around.

I always want to read all of the Bible, but get sidetracked and never make it. I have read a lot of Revelations, the Gospels, Acts, and Psalms and Proverbs. I am ashamed to say that the History books are boring to me...I hate history of any kind. I just keep praying that God will help me be more interested and understand it better.

...anyone here want to read through their Bible? I've started "read through the Bible in one year" plans but never made it...kind of lost the motivation in about February or so...

...wondering if anyone wants to start mid-year with me and do it? I haven't decided on going straight through or skipping around...

Awe...God is so good. We just got out of church and all I can say is "God is so good". He showed up...as usual...and His presence was/is so awesome. What a blessing. All of our teenagers testified about church camp and what they received there. Man they are on fire. I feel revival rolling in like a thunderstorm!!!!

That's wonderful news, Shawna! So often young people get lost in the shuffle.
