I have my first booth this weekend. It is a multi vendor / fundraiser at a BMX Bike track. I have to donate a $20 silent auction basket and bring my own table - no other fees.

I made a few grab bags up to sell for $5.00 and or give for free with any show booked. I also made a few hand outs with the Cranberry Crunch bark recipe. I plan on making a double batch to hand out samples and make up a few as gifts in treat bags with ribbon (as show on CC). Question - can I sell these already made up as gifts??

I also took some of the great ideas from here and I'm making up a few gift ideas with products I already have. Does anyone offer to make the gifts to order if someone asks? For example I plan to make a few ideas up with the prep bowls - if someone wanted the actual gift (min cakes or filled with candy) would you sell the ones you have or offer to make them up if they order and pay for the products + supplies??

THANKS

Hi I got invited to do a 2 hour thing in a nice clothing store. It is very different and I am interested, but now I feel unsure of how to do this.

She said I should bring a display, set up in thier larger dressing room in the back (that seems a bit odd) invite all my "better customers" to come see me there, and they would give them 40% off any clothing they buy... and I could come out and mingle with the customers, not stay in the dressing room.

I was thinking of inviting all my previous hosts and big $ customers

... having christmas chocolates to hand out, a door prize drawing and gift ideas flyers, maybe some gift ideas made up to show?

Should I offer a discount myself? I certainly can't offer 40% off...

Eeek, now I have agreed to do this and am feeling all out of my depth! Help!

I'd like to say all opportunities are good ones. . . but here's the deal.

I have a friend who wants me to participate in an open house - free of charge :) - with Mary Kay, Creative Memories, and a jewelry lady.

I was thinking of doing some microwave recipes (it's 4 hours long), every hour on the hour so that people could see me prepare something really quick, then come take a taste of whatever I made after they've looked at everyone's other things. . .

I was going to make it a Mystery Host type show - with a drawing and tickets for different things, like bringing a friend, buying products, booking shows, becoming a consultant, etc.

The lady in charge (the creative memories lady), wants everyone to bring their own food, and me not do any recipes, because she's afraid it would take away all the customers. Also, she wants me to donate just one door prize and after the event, everyone will get a list of everyone's names.

No, these things aren't bad - but is it really worth my time? She was all excited because she "already has two people coming - there might be a lot there!" - I'm thinking if there's only 30 or 40 people there, I would need to do some recipes to show off some stoneware, cookware, etc, to make it worth my four hours. . .

What do you think? I'm talking to her more about it at 1:30 today. . .

Well I had that booth I talked about a couple of weeks ago. The one that my director wanted me to have the cluster mates envolved in because of the size. Was on Saturday the 14th.

Traffic was not as big as one might have thought(50,000) was the adverstised number. It was good through the day but was good. I got two orders for 79 dollars from the show immediately( gave 10% off to entice orders). Was to have a mystery host but not enough for a show so added them to another host show.

I received 3 bookings of which two booked immediately. One a catalog show is going now and will close soon, and the other is for December 13th. The other one is for a woman whose sister was an PC consultant so I called yesterday and waiting to hear back from her.

Lots a replacement request. Will be following up with people on those. Being that I am new have to figure out how to do these yet.

And then I had a request for a fundraiser for a non profit that is local to the area for their Casino night Black Tie event on Valentines Day. This one will give me some important local contacts potentially so I am excited that this might open some other doors as well.

Overall it was a good investment for 125, and plan to send in my application in the begining of December for next years event. Need to ensure my space for next year.

Thanks,

I worked with someone else at a Christmas craft show this last weekend. I had lots of small items for cash and carry. My partner needed orders and bookings. I think we both did well. I could have also sold 7 ice cream scoops if I would have had them. I hear others against cash and carry, but it works well for me. I sold about $450 in small items. I had several plastic baskets from the dollar tree with items seperated by catagory. Bamboo in one, peelers in another, spatulas also in one. I also sold quite a few items from the outlet like discontinued spreaders. I traded a pizza stone to another vendor for a gift for someone.
We had one table decorated with gift ideas. Everyone admired them, then started digging through what they could buy then.

I will have a few catalogs and mini cats, order forms. I will have the current guest/host special and for December on display. I was thinking of having the list of products listed in order of price so people can take and see for stocking stuffer type items, I am going to make copies of the booth coupon with recipe to hand out and then have copies of the tri-fold Pampered Sets pamphlet to hand out. I will also have door prize drawing slips. Do you think it's too much, should I have other information in place of some of these? Also, any helpful hints how to set up a holiday booth, with pictures, would be great. Thanks!

I have some product that I would like to get rid of..not HUGE items..but a few things that I bought as the host specials when I hosted my own show and stuff like that..I also have some small things that I could do together.

The items I have are things like Prep Bowl sets..Dots Large Round Bowl..Cutting Board with Measure Cups

I have a booth to do next week..and I was thinking about asking the organizers if I can do my own silent auction at my table.

Should I wrap the items and tell them how much it is worth and then set a minimum bid?

Or should I just have the item out in the open and still just have a minimum bid?

Should I scratch the idea all together and just try to have them all as cash and carry?

Joy - I love the idea of a $5 grab-n-go gift bag! Has anyone does this? I'm wondering what type of bag do you use? The S/B does not seem to fit in any goodie bag I've looked at. I thought about doing a brown lunch sack bag and putting holiday stickers, PC sticker and maybe my info. Kinda like a suprise bag - put in a coupon for $$ or % off and tell them each bag has at least xx amount of product value for only 5 bucks each.

I have my first booth coming up. Its a fundraiser/vendor event at a BMX bike track. They are rasing $$ for a little girl that has cancer. I have to donate a basket with a $20 product value for the auction to join. But I have 2 craft fairs too so if I don't sell them I have 2 more chances to pass them out.
