I went to a Holiday Bazaar last Saturday on 11/14/2009, it was at a Salvation Army Church... no sales, a couple of leads and one of the items I had on my table was the RUFTH Trivet, people loved it..

I overheard the coordinator say they needed to raise money for their local food bank which is also part of the church....I offered to do a fundraiser where there they could get 10%-15% depending on sales. They seemed excited and wanted to set it up for Feb. 2010... I was brainstorming and decided to help the church and food bank (because I looked it up on Feeding America's web site and their food bank is part of the charity they give to), their church kitchen has old and donated pots, pans and tools...

Here is my idea... hold a local pancake breakfast ($3.00 per person {$1.00 for purchase of food, $1.00 to the Food Bank and $1.00 to the purchase of new kitchen products from the PC}), and conduct a raffle $1.00 a ticket; this would also help the church with the purchase of new products (under the Trivet only sale, because it would be a cooking show demo). The fundraiser would be the sale of the products and people could also buy and donate products to the church kitchen, and the church and food bank would receive the proceeds, I would also be willing to donate 5% from the Trivet only sale.

We would raffle off items under the host special, free or 50% items, like the food chopper, the medium bar pan and the classic batter bowl. All things I feel are staples in a kitchen.

Now for the Trivet only Sale... here is my idea... I have made up order forms, cash or check only, because I am planning on paying the shipping...I have also made up flyers for it... The church is about an hour from me, so I was thinking of driving up there and having a meeting with the pastor and handing out the forms and going to local business's with Trivet in hand and letting people see it first hand and see how many orders I can get that way and ask them to round up the order just to give a little more. My goal is 100 Trivets and at 13.00 a Trivet that is a good show and a lot of free and discounted products for the church, who then can use the new kitchen products for bakes sales and such....

Does anyone think I am crazy? I am really trying to help.

I had a fundraiser scheduled for next week and entered it in my PC3 as such. I've taken a few orders and now the chairperson wants to do a cooking show instead...

My problem... I can't figure out how to change it from fundraiser to cooking... and two of the orders have credit card payments. I thought I could simply re-enter the orders under a cooking show and delete the fundraiser, but two of the orders have credit cards payments. I don't have the original credit card numbers; so if i can't easily convert the show, I'll need to call the customers. Does anyone know if there is something in p3 I can do?

I have a fundraiser going on from Nov 10th-Dec1st. When I was making up packets I gave the members the Dec guest special sheet because I am closing the show in P3 in December. I wanted the show to be at the beginning of Dec for the sell-a-thon. But now that I'm looking on my PWS I see that people can order the november guest special. Although I would bet that ANYONE who orders online will do direct shipping based on my group.

So did I screw up the guest special? should I have gone from the beginning of the fundraiser?

And does the sell-a-thon count the date that the show is submitted? or the date that it was scheduled to happen?

This is my first fundraiser and it is for an organization that I belong to. I am running it long distance, I'm calling them tomorrow during their meeting to go over all the details.

I was also thinking of including some of the flyers for holiday gift ideas and maybe a recipe as well. Any other ideas on what to include in the envelope?

I'll try to keep this short and simple (hah!).

At the last minute I was invited to participate in a vendor fair/fundraiser. The cost is 20% of the total sales. Hey, no problem, no one shows up for these things, there'll be no sales, MAYBE I'll get a lead or two. If there are at least enough to submit as a show, I'll take the host benefits.

Well, there actually were sales, and I even got a booking for the 21st of this month (woohoo, I've never had such a close-in booking!). Anyway, the event was held at a woman's house, and at the end she went around to all the booths to place her order. Well, she was interested in the Stemware, and I mentioned the Host Special. As of right now, the show is sitting at $536.50, and when I call her tomorrow to close the show, she's going to expect the commission AND the host benefits. How should I handle this? I am having almost everything direct shipped, so I could have her and the one other order going to her delivered to me instead, then make a special trip to drop them at her house, so I can take advantage of the free and half price, but that's deceitful. Should I just bless and release, and be happy I have a show, and that with the other things going on this month I should hit at least $750?

Ok, since yesterday I have gathered my thoughts, spoken with my director, and managed to get a comprehensive well thought out email to the chairperson of this fundraiser I have going for November.

She emailed me back today and said that the Human Society would like to raise $1000!!! As I donate an additional 5% of my commission to fundraisers over $1000 this would lead me to calculate that the fundraiser should be around $5000 to reach her goal. WOW.

I am a bit overwhelmed and excited at the same time. Again, this is the first large scale fundraiser I have done. Here is my game plan so far, please let me know what else I can do:

- I have offered to meet with the staff members and volunteers who will be involved to get them excited and walk them through the fundraiser, how it will work, taking orders, etc.

- I have also offered to have a kickoff for the Human Society where they can invite people to come watch a demonstration, learn about PC, learn about the Human Society's goals, and place orders

- She has between 10-17 staff members and volunteers that she thinks will get involved. She asked "if 10 people collect 10 orders can we reach our goal?" Realistically, yes, (average of a $50 order) but I would like to account for a bit of a cushion to be safe, so I will encourage her to strive for more people and a few extra orders.

- I have received permission from the home office to link my PWS to their website, and they have an e-newsletter going out next week that will advertise the fundraiser, so hopefully this will generate lots of online sales.

Is there anything else you can think of that I can do to ensure this fundraiser reaches the $5K goal? We're running it from 11/2-11/28, almost 4 full weeks...

Thank you!!!

I had started to make calls last week to different non-profits in my area and a local animal shelter just called me back and they are VERY interested in doing a fundraiser with me for November. YAY!

Their e-newsletter goes out next week and they want to set up the link to the fundraiser through their e-newsletter and on their website. I know I need permission for this, and there will be a space to ask permission for this when I set up the fundraiser thru my website, but is there a # I can call at the HO to speed the process along?

Also, this is the FIRST large-scale fundraiser I've EVER DONE. We are going to set it up online, what else would you recommend? Bringing catalogs down to the shelter and having their volunteers take them home to share with friends and family? Some type of incentive program- whoever brings in the most sales gets a gift card to Dunkin Donuts?

ANY suggestions are welcome, I need to email her back tonight, thank you thank you!!!! :D
