So I had a revelation last night. I've been super busy and have been using that as an excuse to not make calls and really work my business. It doesn't take very long to make a few phone calls at all. I've been terrible about picking up the phone to get my mystery hosts for the only thing I'll likely submit in November!:( I also lost a November show to a January show because of not taking 5 minutes to pick up the phone sooner. Yesterday I worked till about 4:30pm then at 5:30 I had my last bootcamp class this session. Between work and bootcamp I called my December 5th host back from a call she placed Monday (i didn't get the message till late monday night and I worked both jobs Tuesday I wasn't avoiding this one) She was not available before class but I got in touch with her after and we finalized some things and she has a December booking which is great but I was really hoping to not have too many cooking shows in December with moving but I need the contacts and sales so one more won't hurt and will help with SAT for December. Anyway I'm getting off topic. I nearly had 3 contacts yesterday with less than a 1/2 an hour of calling. If I'd called more people who knows what I would have done. I need to get on the phone tonight to get my 5 other mystery hosts and start booking January so I can go into the holidays knowing that I've got a good start to the new year! 3 shows in December will hopefully help fill my calender for 2010 as well! My point of this post was really it shouldn't be so scary and seem like such an ordeal to pick up the phone. A 1/2 hour a day could result in great things for your business. So that is my plan to spend at least a 1/2 hour a day at least 5 days a week making calls for my business whether it be CC, Booking, Recruit leads. Starting tonight.

I currently do not have any party bookings. Whenever I do call someone they are not interested. Below are the types of leads I have:

~ Past customers
~ Past hosts
~ Leads from vendor events

While I do do custumer care calls and the like, I never seem able to book a party. Everyone always wants to go to someone elses party and not host one themselves.

How do you get someone to book a party from a phone call?

I would really appreciate any word choices or ideas. I was thinking of offering the "price of the day deal" for a product, such as the cookie press. Again though, I do not know what I would say on the phone.

I really need to drum up some business. Please help!

Thanks!
I think I want to steal the idea, but don't want to reinvent the wheel so to speak if anyone has already put something like this together and wouldn't mind to share? Also thought about putting a page in the front with name/phone info and maybe a month field for guests to sign up as potential hosts, so that I could follow up.

I was trying to figure out how I can do PC full time instead of my 9-5 job and I did the goals worksheet. To make 2000 a month with an average of 400 a show in sales I have to do 20 shows a month!

I'm just looking for some input on how to get over this "fear". I guess it's a fear of rejection. :(

Also, when do you usually make your customer care calls? Do you think it's too late to make calls from a show in July?
Thanks for any info.

I was okay with that, because my DB & SIL & kids are coming for T-giving. But today I had someone call and ask if I had anything else available for November...and she booked for that Monday! I'm emailing her my full page invite template so she can start passing out invites at work, and getting her a host packet in the mail today. She already has outside orders, and I haven't sent her a thing yet! Whooo Hooo!

Oh yeah - she was a home office lead from October who had never responded to my emails (didn't have a phone # for her). AND 7 years ago, she had a PC Bridal Shower, but has no idea who the consultant was...makes me more determined to stay in touch with my customers!

Not sure if that would be to pushy. Any thoughts?
