How the Promoting Structure Works

In summary, the promoting structure is a hierarchical system within a company that outlines employee roles and responsibilities and determines their career progression. It typically starts with entry-level positions and moves up based on performance and qualifications. It is created and implemented by upper management or the HR department. The benefits include clear career development and fairness in promotions, but drawbacks may include limited opportunities for non-traditional employees and competition among employees.

I am currently a Team Leader with two active consultants on my team and I'm working towards directorship. My newest consultant is excited about recruiting also and I think she'll be very good at it. I know that until she is a director, her recruits are technically a part of my personal team. When she promotes to director, what does that mean for me? Does my title change to Advanced Director if my team meets the requirement?

Yes, if your team meets the requirements for promotion, then your title will change to Advanced Director. This promotion is recognition of your success in developing and leading a successful team. You may also receive additional compensation for achieving this milestone.

Congratulations on your progress towards directorship! It sounds like you have a great team and a promising consultant who is excited about recruiting. As for your question, when your consultant promotes to director, her recruits will become a part of her personal team and no longer count towards your personal team. This means that your title will not change to Advanced Director unless you also meet the requirements for that title on your own. However, as a team leader, you will still have the responsibility of supporting and mentoring your consultant as she grows her team and works towards her own directorship. So while your title may not change, your role and influence within the company will continue to grow and evolve. Keep up the good work and best of luck on your journey towards directorship!
