Met a possible consultant tonight at a joint show, she sells jewelry and is looking for another "direct sell" company. I'm not a fan of joint shows, but WOW!!! They aren't great for sales, but I'll become a fan if she signs! So, I gave her some info and she said she would definately give me a call. She was asking about training, hosts buying products, and really great questions like, "should I have a show first". How long should I wait, I mean, I want to call her NOW, but its almost midnight.

12:01?I'd give her a call tomorrow, late morning, early afternoon, just to see if she'd like to get together for coffee and answer any more questions she may have.

Good luck!!!

You're 12:08!! :D Just got home from the show and I'm a little wound up. Thanks. I just don't want to come off as weird because she said she'd call me.

She probably won't...I'd think of a reason to call her, then, like, "I forgot to mention the awesome bonus you can earn if you sign up by the end of May. You can earn our new Simple Additions Rectangle Stand and Platter!" And then segue into the getting together for coffee bit...

Diane

It's only after 11:00 here, so I'd still call. Kidding, of course :-)

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I wait to follow up after a party?

It's generally recommended to follow up within 24 to 48 hours after the party. This timeframe allows you to capitalize on the excitement of the event while the products and offers are still fresh in your guests' minds.

What if I don't hear back after my first follow-up?

If you don't hear back after your initial follow-up, it's appropriate to wait about a week before reaching out again. A gentle reminder can help keep the conversation going without being overly pushy.

Is it okay to follow up multiple times?

Yes, following up multiple times can be beneficial, but it's important to space out your communications. After your first follow-up, consider waiting a week or two before reaching out again, and always ensure your messages are friendly and not too frequent.

How do I know if it's too soon to follow up?

If you just had a party or sent out a catalog, it's best to wait at least a few days before following up. Pay attention to the responses you receive; if guests seem engaged, you can follow up sooner. If they seem busy or unresponsive, give them more time.

What should I say in my follow-up?

Your follow-up should be friendly and personalized. Thank them for attending the party, ask if they have any questions about the products, and remind them of any special offers. This approach keeps the conversation light and encourages engagement.
