Upgrade Done! Read what's new!

Although a bit tedious the upgrade went quite smoothly and with no major problems! Phew :thumbup::D

As you can see there are no major design changes. However there are many new feature you'll want to checkout and take advantage of.

1. Profile customization. You can now customize your profile like a myspace page. Use your favorite colors!

2. Profile messaging. You can now post a "visitor" message on someones profile. These are public and similiar to facebook wall messages.

3. Profile tracking. It now lists the 10 most recent visitors to your profile.

4. Friends. You now can easily friend someone on the forum by going to their profile and selecting "befriend user".

5. Profile photo albums. This is replacing our past gallery. Now you can create your own galleries. Go to your usercp and under "Networking" select "pictures ad albums"

6. Social Groups. These are special forum like areas where you can join groups with interests similiar to yours. I have added a few groups. You can create your own and recruit members. Social groups can share photos.

7. Moods. Now you can wear your emotions on you postbit! Choose your mood at the top of the page under the private message link.

8. Prefixes. When adding a new thread you can choose a prefix. Currently I only have one. I welcome suggestions for additional ones.

9. Multi-quote. There is a new button next to the quote button and its multi quote. Now you can select all the posts you want to quote from at once. Click the multiquote button for each post and then select reply and you'll see all the quoted posts appear.

10. Hopefully numerous bug fixes! yay for no errors!

That's all I can think of right now. I know you'd find tons of little things here and there that have changed or been added. It seems most of our usual features like files, consultant dir and reviews are working. Please report anything broken. ENJOY! :)

Oh heck no..... I was never so happy to take a nice hot shower in clear water. I just stood in the shower for 45 minutes. My kids are still up, there little clocks are off, they sleep until 10-10:30, take late naps and go to bed later~argh... I am trying to get them back on track.

The New Post arrow is back to working the way it's supposed to, too. No more scrolling through posts that are new since last login, but not since last read.

I think it is pretty cool to click on the blue arrow in a quoted post and have it take you back to the original!

Thank you so much for making a great site even better!!! We have fun on here, but the knowledge and support we all have just makes this such a unique site....is there a spell check feature? For us who used to know how to spell, have aged and someone in our house someone misplace our dictionary (and yes, I have thought that it is that age related dementia, but alas, it is not!!)

I agree Ann, it really helps to know your audience when answering questions so you don't refer to something too old for someone new or can do a comparison from past to present for those who have been in PC longer... :thumbup:

The size of the chatbox changed with the upgrade. It's significantly larger now.

With all the new profile features, I'm clicking through to more profiles lately, and I'm seeing a LOT of people who have their PWS in their homepage area. THIS IS AGAINST POLICY. It not only creates a clickable link from your profile page, it creates a link directly to your PWS from your username on posts. Please remove your PWS from your policy before HO sees it (they do have lurkers around here, you know).
